BREAK OUT SESSIONS
2017 - Present
The following are breakout sessions for administrators and school leaders: (NOTE: these sessions can comprise a 3-5 day leadership institute. Contact me if your school or district is interested in learning more)
TECHNOLOGY & THE BIBLE:
Explore what the Biblical narrative says about responsible use of technology, and develop a personal Christian philosophy of technology in education.
Unpack the leading research-based instructional technology pedagogy and heutagogy best practices in the classroom. Analyze technology integration examples to differentiate what effective instructional technology in the classroom looks like.
BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE VISION:
Formulate strategies to engage stakeholders - students, parents, teachers, and staff - in developing a strategic vision to leverage technology for transformational learning. Using this vision, collaborate and develop implementation strategies for sustainability and accountability with stakeholders.
EMPOWERING DIGITAL LEADERSHIP:
Analyze, evaluate, and consider practical approaches to creating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional agency to enrich teaching and transform learning with technology.
CONNECTED LEADER & LEARNER:
What does it mean to be a connected leader and why is it important for school leadership, teachers, and students? This will be a hands-on session that models and engages best practices in being a connected leader.
Spend some time working through technology challenges or digital tasks designed to increase connectedness and communication.
SYSTEM & LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Investigate resources required to support instructional technology initiatives. Explore various legal and ethical uses of technology: compliance, student privacy, and provincial and federal regulations regarding privacy.
LEVERAGING YOUR SCHOOL BRAND:
Dream how to take your school narrative to another level to increase stakeholder engagement, secure unexpected donations, apply for grants, build brand loyalty among current students, staff, parents, alumni, and community members, and work to further the Kingdom of God.
